Come stay in this cozy dovetailed log cabin. It's only 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, but it feels private and secluded nestled in the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Nice and Knotty cabin has log decor throughout. There is a log futon in the living room along with log end tables. The bedroom has a log bed with cotton quilt. Cell phone service is minimal but the WiFi is super fast in this cabin. Most guest are able to use WiFi calling. The private, covered porch has a four person hot tub, gas grill, two rocking chairs, and a table. This cabin overlooks a pond in the winter time and has a wooded view in the summer time. There are many knots in the logs of the cabin, so we thought a name like Nice and Knotty would be appropriate. This cabin is pet friendly!!!

the cabin is a beautiful oasis set deep into the blue ridge mountains. it has everything one would need: a clean hot tub, a gas powered fire place, a kitchen, washer/dryer, easy access, and more! it was the perfect trip away from society, with no cell service or internet access.
the only thing worth noting is the distance is further from Asheville than the listing says. it's about 40 minutes from downtown Asheville and with no cell service, Uber/Lyft is difficult if not impossible.
but it's a perfect place to bring some beer or wine back from town and celebrate under the night sky, stars shining without any city light pollution. highly recommend this desolate retreat to anybody!

5/5, easily! This cabin is even cozier than the pictures. The porch is SO private, we felt like we were alone in the woods all weekend long! We enjoyed our trip so much we have already planned our next one. Can't wait to see it in the fall!

I contemplated not leaving a review because I wanted to be selfish and keep this spot to myself, but I felt that more people needed to know just how great this place was. I can’t say enough about our awesome experience at this gorgeous cabin. Stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend and dogs and we had an incredible time, my only regret is that I didn’t book a longer stay. I highly recommend saving the driving instructions provided by the host as the cell service can get iffy in the area and GPS isn’t always reliable but we had an easy enough time finding the place. The listing is correct in that cell service is pretty non-existent at the cabin, but that’s to be expected in the mountains and honestly made it easier to disconnect and enjoy the peace and quiet. If you drive about 10 minutes or so into town the service gets much better but I really wasn’t too worried about it. The wifi seemed to work great and we were able to stream things seamlessly off of the tv which comes loaded with Hulu and I believe some other streaming apps. The location is quiet, peaceful, scenic, and all in all the cabin stay was one of the best experiences of my life thus far. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need, we cooked an awesome meal in the oven on our first night there. The hot tub was such a great perk after a long day of hiking and sweating, so nice to chill and unwind at night while watching the lightning bugs do their magic. In terms of location, this place was awesome because it’s the first driveway once you’re in the cabin community which made coming and going extremely easy. The cabin is only about 20 minutes or so from downtown Asheville, maybe 25-30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 30-40 minutes from great sightseeing such as the Pink Beds 5 mile loop trail, Looking Glass Falls, Moore Cove Falls trail, Sliding Rock, etc. We didn’t have time to visit the Biltmore but I believe it was only 20-30 minutes away as well. If you want a quiet mountain retreat then look no further because that’s exactly what you’ll get while being in close enough proximity to the city life as well. Keep in mind that it’s a cabin in the woods so that you will be somewhat remote from gas stations/grocery stores/etc. My recommendations for first timers would be to stop at the grocery store on your way to the cabin, I believe the closest one is Ingles which is 15 minutes away and had everything we could have needed for the weekend. If you don’t feel like driving to Asheville, then Uber and Lyft most likely will not pick you up from the cabin, at least we didn’t have any luck during our stay. We learned that you can call one of the local taxi companies who will pick you up and then Uber or Lyft back home for a cheaper rate. On our last day we paid $60 for a taxi to take us to downtown Asheville, but once we were there had no problem finding a $20 Uber to take us back. A very small price to pay to be able to responsibly enjoy all of the great food, cocktail bars, and breweries that Asheville has to offer. All in all I can’t say enough nice things about the cabin, the location and views, the reasonable price, and our host Eric who was extremely kind, responsive, and was even nice enough to give us a late check out on our last morning after a long night of indulging in libations. Thanks Eric and we can’t wait to come back!

Our cabin was just as pictured and described. It was perfect for a weekend get away with a new puppy. It is so peaceful and quiet, even though there are other cabins nearby - it is still very private. We had everything we needed to make meals and feel comfortable.

Overall a fantastic place to stay! Perfect for a couple, and the hot tub is a MUST! Just be prepared that the oven is older, so cooking may be a bit more difficult.

We loved every second of staying at knotty and nice. Everything was so clean and the showers were amazing. The location was beautiful. The only thing we needed that wasn’t there was a good knife. We’ll definitely go back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The host was very responsive and helpful. It’s a perfect getaway for two, and the hot tub was certainly a nice extra. Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore are about 30 minutes away, but it’s an enjoyable ride. Also, the Blue Ridge Parkway is only a 15 minute drive up the mountain from the cabin, and is a very scenic ride (would definitely recommend)! One review mentioned a steep incline to the cabin, but we did not experience that ourselves. The cabin is very accessible with a 2 wheel drive compact car. 5 stars all the way!!!

Clean and cozy cabin. Perfect for our get-a-way in the mountains but not too far if you want to get to the city. Nice hiking trails close by.

Nice cabin in the mountains. Has a nice porch, and hot tub. There are other cabins around but you’ll rarely see anyone. The road leading up to the cabin is all rock and the initial part is uphill, which could make it hard for vehicles with just 2 wheel drive to make it up when there is snow or a lot of rain. Just a heads up on that. Other than that it’s a great place to stay for two people.

The cabin was extremely clean and well equipped. The hot tub was clean and ready to go first day. This place was about 20 min to any part of Asheville. We had brought our dog with us but there were absolutely no signs of other dogs being there.
